Marceline Smith is a writer and illustrator based in Helensburgh on the west coast of Scotland.

She has been self-publishing her own zines since she was a teenager on subjects from music and video games to travelogues and guides plus a few illustrated comics.

Obsessed with Japan and kawaii culture for a long time, Marceline finally got to visit Japan in 2006 and has since returned three times. Her most recent solo trip in 2016 included traveling around Tokyo, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Osaka, Arashiyama and Nagoya. She has shared shopping tips, photography and illustrations in a book and two travel guides.

As well as writing, Marceline designs cute character goods under the name Asking For Trouble, which are licensed for all kinds of products, and is the co-founder of daily cute blog Super Cute Kawaii. Her hobbies include astronomy, sewing, playing Nintendo, visiting gardens, and reading of course!
